Misplaced Faith by Tyna McDevitt

Misplaced Faith by Tyna McDevitt

This photo is to show the significance faith, religion, or spirituality can impact someone's childhood and shadow over them for the rest of their life. The cross is actually a broken hinge with a rosary wrapped around it and then burnt over an image of one of my dear friends who was very reluctant to be shot. This image is very dear to me because of the major role religion, specifically Christianity, played in my life. My mom made it a big deal in my family and now that I'm older I have more freedom to find my own path. The cross here represents a cage and being trapped in one way of life where the person represents thoughts and emotions that fade through the years so you don't hurt anyone else.
