As an artist, I find fulfillment through many mediums including photography. Holding a camera brings a new light through my eyes each time. Going through the process of using a 35mm instead of a digital camera is exciting because you only have yourself and the pictures you capture quickly. You never know what to expect when processing the film and printing the pictures is hard work. You learn a lot about yourself through art and the way you work, which is important in life itself. I like capturing different objects that aren’t usually noticed and also looking at common things in a different way. Showing this piece of my three year old niece lying on my mother’s bed in a patterned shirt, shows my inspiration in doing portraits. My other work portrays mostly pattern and line, which is also shown in this photograph. I love art and love that I’m able to express myself during school and learn from my peers and excellent teachers.
